I just started the Second season of Doom Patrol the other day. Also going through my own binge of Tarantino films, just finished Kill Bill Vol.1 and 2 and on my way to watching Death Proof this weekend.
I love your definition of alternative but I'm afraid to say I only do alternative in comicbooks. My favorite series are books that had one short run or two, or have a bunch of "C-listers" as protagonists but as you said they rise to prominence because they resonated with me.
I recently watched "Promising Young Woman", it's a bittersweet film but the best thing about it is that starts conversations and discussions (not fights) we all should be having. I can't think in another movie right now because I've mostly been watching anime and series. Just yesterday I finished Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood, I don't know if you like anime or if you have watch it but it's a very good story about science, humanity and God. Also, whenever they used their powers on the Earth/ground or mentioned how they used the energy of Earth to do their alchemy I thought about Rictor haha 😋.
Anyway, have nice week! I can't wait for X-Corp to see two of my favorites, M and Jamie!!
I watched David Byrne: American Utopia on HBO Max after a film critic I follow on YouTube recommended it. Just a gloriously affirming live show and Spike Lee’s direction just did extra wonders for the whole thing.
