Okay, finally using substack beyond reading the emails, HA. Heck yes to all of the above. Excited you're joining the TTG train! Such a fun manga.
I don't often set new year's goals/resolutions, but writing things down more is kinda one of mine this year. Or more rather - being more organised with my writings. I'm very good at jotting things down and losing them. I'm working harder to actually *use* the notebooks I flippin' invest in, beyond the first handful of pages.
What helped me a lot was designating different notebooks for different things. I have a planner, a Work for Hire Ideas Notebook, a Creator Owned ideas notebook, a notebook for my novel, and a sketchbook for visual jotting. Sounds like a lot, but it helps to feel like i have a place to put each kind of idea I have!
Hello from the Port City! This was my first newsletter and I enjoyed it. I’ve already shared the Brian K. Vaughn quote with some friends, so thanks for posting it.
30 books in a year is really impressive. And who knows how many single issues you had to read?
I would think reading and then finding time to write has to take time.
Glad you liked the quote. And honestly for me - reading is part of how I get the energy to write! I genuinely feel like I can't do one without the other. Thanks for stopping by!
Not for nothing, but Knights of X is one of the best titles for an X-Men book ever.
Thanks! I am having a blast with it!
YES! I'm a HUGE fan of Otherworld and own all the original Allan Moore stories. Tini bringing back STRIKE, The Fury and Jaspers. So I'm in heaven.
We love a boundary and a reference to Nana! 🤘
Something important I learned once about enforcing boundaries - the right kinds of people will cheer you on for it. Thanks for being the best, Al. <3

So high fives on the reading!
