First of all, I will be at New York Comic Con next weekend! I’m signing at my table Thursday through Sunday, with one panel, the Gotham City panel, on Saturday from 4:30-5:30PM. I don’t know my table number yet, but I’ll share that when I do. I’ll be there signing for several hours each day with books for sale.
Now, can we talk CATWOMAN: NINE LIVES for a second?
Spinning out of Gotham War’s insane ending and starting with CATWOMAN #59, CATWOMAN: NINE LIVES the kind of story I’ve wanted to tell for a long time. Selina will see parts of the world she’s never seen before, taking on the deadliest missions possible. Don’t worry - she’s not in despair - she’s reaching new heights of international power and intrigue.
Powerhouse Stefano Raffaele is our artist for the first three of these nine issues, and my god these are some beautiful pages. The sneakest of peeks:
It’ll also be a fun place to jump on if you’re new to Catwoman, or comics in general. Grab the popcorn and the catnip and enjoy the show. Don’t forget to pre-order!
PS - If you work at a comic or book shop, why not subscribe your shop email to The Scorpio Room below? Even at the free tier, you’ll get weekly-ish updates about what I’ve got coming out to make your ordering life a little easier. Always here to help my pals in the infantry (comics retail).

Here’s what I’ve been enjoying, I think you might enjoy it too:
Instead of the standard format, this month I’ll share every spooky activity I do in the month of October. My birthday is on the 24th and Halloween has always been my favorite holiday, so Blake and I make the whole month a celebration and try to do at least one spooky thing each day. So here’s what we’ve enjoyed each night so far!
OCT 1: Park Chan Wook’s THIRST absolutely blew me away. The story of a pair of toxic vampires as beautiful and tragic as any of my favorites, it’s as visually composed and tense as his other films with a dark, beautiful ribbon of blood all the way through.
OCT 2: THE SINKING CITY. We always like to play a horror video game together during the month of October, and this is the one for this year. Blake’s played it before, but I’m really enjoying the deep investigatory feel with that creepy Lovecraftian touch. It reminds me a little of LA Noire, a little of Disco Elysium.
OCT 3: CASTLEVANIA: NOCTURNE. Hell yeah. I know I mentioned this last week, but we took a night to finish up the rest of this eight episode series, and I’m dying for more. Don’t look up any spoilers, just put it on and enjoy the bloody good time. I think it far surpasses the last Castlevania Netflix outing, which, while gorgeous, had some pretty clunky writing, imo. This one makes up for everything.
OCT 4: SIMPSONS: TREEHOUSE OF HORROR. Perfect until about season 11 or so, which is still hours of some of the best Simpsons episodes ever made. If, for some reason, you’ve never sat down to watch these, they’re each made up of a few short horror parodies, everything from Twilight Zone to Stephen King to The Omega Man. I feel a little bit insane explaining these to my readers - coming home from trick-or-treating and plopping down in front of Treehouse of Horror episodes was such an essential part of my youth it seems ubiquitous. But in case it’s not - go watch some of the funniest TV ever written.
OCT 5: PUMPKINHEAD. We finally sat down to check out creature god Stan Winston’s only directorial outing, and it was…fun! A really solid, fun, watchable horror flick with Lance Henriksen at the center, acting his balls off and carrying the whole movie on his ripped little back. My only complaint is that his head looks nothing like a fucking pumpkin. They call him that because of the pumpkin patch he comes out of. Respectfully, what the FUCK, Stan.
Stay weird, talk soon -

Hopefully Selina will just be solo during these missions; she can't seem to pick trustworthy accomplices for crap, haha.
