Last week’s “diary of indolence” was even better than I could have hoped.
Saw two movies (both bad), spent hours at the pool reading and listening to podcasts while on a little floatie, consumed expensive Italian food, checked out a bunch of library books, crocheted a good 40 rows onto my latest project, painted some Star Wars minis, did every last bit of laundry, went shopping, went goth clubbing, went to Porto’s…a delight.
And then, as if I’d never skipped the convention at all, I was delivered…presents. Comics and board game presents. The kind of presents I would have spent my hard-earned convention money on had I been there.
BOARD GAMES. BOARD GAMES WITH—
MINIATURES OF CHARACTERS I LOVE. INCLUDING A MINI OF—
BETSY BRADDOCK, CAPTAIN BRITAIN!!!
I spoke to Geoff and Suzy at CMON Games last year when they were mid-campaign on their very cool Marvel United board game and the Multiverse expansion packs. I saw this fierce, adorable little Betsy figurine at their C2E2 booth and couldn’t help but introduce myself and ask where I could buy one. While they said it was part of their not-yet released expansion, they were kind enough to send me one. I wasn’t sure if I’d be getting just a Betsy or what, but no, there were so many, including many of my other favorites (like Wiccan and Elsa Bloodstone.)
Folks may not know this, but I love painting miniatures. And the timing couldn’t be better - I spent a good chunk of my Indolent Weekend painting tiny hairlines and eyebrows on teeny tiny ISB Agent Star Wars minis. I need something colorful to paint. Further bulletins as minis get painted.
THANK YOU so much to the folks at CMON Games! I can’t wait to play this, and check out the other games y’all have. Dune and ASOIAF board games? Oh my yes.
Then this happened at SDCC and I forgot how to act for several hours:
We can talk about it in the comments. This is a safe space for Lestat apologia. We need a name, like Swifties. And bracelets, probably.

HARLEY QUINN #42 came out last week! The second-to-last issue of my run, and to bring us home we have the return of SWEENEY BOO for these final three issues, which contain more of:
The heartbreaking true life story and redemption of MAXIE ZEUS!
HARLEY and ROBIN’s plan to infiltrate MR. FREEZE’s ICE-SCRAPER!
More from BONE-CHILLING new Gotham City Villains, HARMADA and VAMPIRE SQUID!
Harley’s misguided attempts to force a QUEER BESTIES SITUATION between her and Robin!
…AND MORE!
August will be a short break while we enjoy the living shit out of LEAH WILLIAMS’ short weekly GOTHAM CITY SIRENS miniseries, and then we’re back in September for the final issues of both Harley and Catwoman.
After that? Just waiting on announcements. ;)
Stay weird, talk soon!
