4.1. - where the hell has she been?
where is my mind? who let the dogs out? now that we've found love what are we gonna do with it?
Monday is a good time to log off of the Mini Take Machines and catch up on some podcasts, don’t you think?
The newsletter got a little crowded this past week, and I didn’t include many links of my appearances, interviews, and other stuff. In the month I failed to talk to you guys, I actually had a bunch of interesting conversations with other people, and since I’m not on bird app much anymore, I figured I should collect those links here for the interested:
I was asked to be a guest on the Hugo nominated Worldbuilding for Masochists podcast to talk about establishing settings, story, and characters for big properties. I think I’m the only one on the episode who had never written for Star Wars. Also I said yes to being on it the day before the Hugo nomination and I’ve never felt cooler in and more in on something right before it got hip in my life.
I stopped by for a threepeat on the incredible CEREBROCAST to discuss Monet St. Croix, one of my favorite Marvel characters and a weird one. There are a few other guests on this one who have great things to say, and Connor, as always, is an incredible host and a truly impressive font of X-Men knowledge.
And I talked to my pal and industry big-brain John Siuntres over on Word Balloon - We talk about Marvel and the X-Men of course, but also about the Star Trek-flavored parts of my upbringing, and Star Wars orthodoxy.
My darling Angélique Roché sat down on Marvel’s PULL LIST with Ryan Penagos and Tucker Markus to talk about STRIKEFORCE, my grab-bag of a monster-hunting team book from 2019! I wasn’t there, but you might want to give it a listen if you liked the book, because I miss these cats (the podcast host, and writing those characters.)
I did some questions over in Asked and Answered with the Women of Marvel - always fun.
I’ll leave you with this image from Twitter from user @emilywritesgood that has been haunting me with its brilliance for literal weeks. Thanks, Emily. I simply must post it in its full context with full credit, for it is true art.
Log off, stay weird, talk soon. Super glad we have this space.

Loved your chat on Wordballon - I *need* psychic lemonade in my life!! Haven't had a chance to catch the Cerebrocast yet but I will be looking to - definitely think these news letters are a better way to keep up with what you're doing than you-know-what, take care
Thanks updating us on these podcasts! I normally do a lot of shop office work Monday and these came just in time. I like to listen to podcasts so I don't feel like I'm going mad amongst the dead silence.
